4.3 Bank Account

  • For doing Bizz in Hannover it will be necessary to open a bank account.

    Below you will find a list of documents which have to be presented when opening an account. It is a quotation of the Sparkasse Hannover. Maybe the list will depend a little on the bank that you choose for opening your bank account. Don't be worried: It won't be as difficult as it looks and GIBC will assist you.

    Documents which have to be presented when opening an account (e.g. with Spar­kasse Hannover)

    • Applicant’s and authorized persons valid identity card(s) and/or pass­port(s) in photocopy
    • Signing authorities (first name, sur­name, passport - ID no., issued in, date, date of birth, place of birth, sole signing powers, joint signing powers)
    • Copy of the Articles of Incorpora­tion of the company or copy of the Arti­cles of Association of the com­pany
    • List of Managing Directors
    • Introduction (Letter of Reference) of a local bank
    • Verification of the authorized signa­ture’s by their banks
    • Confirmation of the local bank (All documents must be certified by the local bank.)

    You also need the Customer Introduction Form for opening an account. It contains:

    • Customer details (company name, type of company, customer’s main bankers – branch, address, phone/fax, Relationship Manager)
    • Confirmation of the customer’s main banker of the details (VAT Number, date of incorporation, registration No., Managing Director or CEO, registered office, phone/fax, line of business, „Is there a presence of the company in Germany?“)
    • Signing authorities (first name, sur­name, passport - ID No., issued in, date, date of birth, place of birth, sole signing powers, joint signing powers)
    • Currency of the account, type of the ac­count
    • The form „Current account contract with the Sparkasse Hannover“ has to be signed.
    • The form “Letter of Certification” has to be typed on the customer’s main bank letterhead and to be under­signed by a manager.
    • The Form "Confirmation of the Bank" has to be signed by the customer's main bank.
